As a charity we’ve been known as The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice since we began in 1999 and, until a couple of years ago, we only looked after children up to the age of 19 so being called a “children’s” hospice suited us fine.

Two years ago we announced that we would no longer discharge our young adults when they reached 19. Of course, this was wonderful news for all our families, but it also meant that The Donna Louise was no longer just for children. With the children who come to The Donna Louise growing up into young adults, The Donna Louise brand had to grow up too.

The first thing we needed to change was our name as we’re no longer just a children’s hospice and we also wanted a completely new look to represent this new step in our journey.

So, after months of planning and hard work we have a new name, a new logo and a new colour scheme, but possibly our most exciting development is our brand new website.

Liz Gratton, Director of Income Generation at The Donna Louise explained, “Having a strong online presence is vital in today’s digital world and our old website was simply no longer user friendly. By building a brand new website we have the chance to move with the times and include lots of new, up-to-date features.”

The Donna Louise’s new website has built by ExtraMile Communications in Eccleshall who have completed the build at no cost to the charity.

“We are so happy to gift the new website to The Donna Louise. The work they do for children and young adults is truly awe-inspiring and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team on their latest developments. We have worked with the trust to provide digital marketing support for a number of years now, so we knew our team would be in a great position to create a new site which fulfills the charity’s needs.” Gabrielle Hadley, Managing Director

Liz added, “We are so grateful to everyone at ExtraMile Communications. None of this would have been possible without their support. It’s taken months and months of hard work but it’ll now be so much easier for our families and supporters to navigate our bright and colourful website and we’re so proud to be able to finally share it. ”
