One of Britain’s top comedians, Hal Cruttenden, is holding a #ONEINAMILLION show at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre, Lichfield, on Friday 23rd March, in aid of The Donna Louise.
Shoppers visiting Three Spires Shopping Centre in Lichfield can now bag a piece of artwork along with their winter bargains thanks to an exhibition of artwork created by children, young adults and families at The Donna Louise.
The collection of stunning artwork is displayed within the centre - on the railings in the centre of the shopping area - and has already attracted lots of interest and comments from passing shoppers.
On Friday 8th December, businesses, schools, community groups and families pulled on their favourite Christmas jumpers to get involved in The Donna Louise’s Christmas Jumper Day.
And the charity’s second Christmas jumper day was a huge success as hundreds of people across the region wore their Christmas jumpers with pride, and made a donation to The Donna Louise.
On Wednesday 13th December, we ground on a new multi-million Pound facility to cater for its service users beyond the age of 19.
The construction of the facility, located alongside the existing hospice in Trentham, will be funded by The Denise Coates Foundation and will be named the “Denise Coates Foundation Building.”
My name is Amanda and I am a mum at The Donna Louise. If you’ve not been to The Donna Louise you could be forgiven for thinking that it’s a sad place, but for the most part, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
When my family visited for the first time, we were terrified. You have all these preconceived ideas about a children’s hospice, but the moment we set foot inside, they all went. It was full of laughter and happiness and, more importantly, there were many families there in the same situation as us.
“I’m dreaming of a White Christmas, Let it Snow and O come all ye faithful” – just three of the wonderful Christmas songs which will be performed at The Donna Louise Christmas Concert on Wednesday 13th December at the Kings Hall, Stoke.
Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained by four local choirs and a local ballet school as well as Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Beau Dermott, who recently released her first album after reaching the final of the talent competition last year.
In 2015, a team of 24 set off from Tower Bridge in 2 boats and conquered a 7 day, 500 mile row across open water to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This intrepid group of travellers pushed their minds, bodies and spirits to the limit to raise over £300,000 to provide nursing care to children at The Donna Louise.
And now Tower to Tower is back - even tougher and more grueling than before!
