For the sixth year in a row, the Witter family will transform their farm near Crewe into a Winter Wonderland in memory of 18 year-old Jessica Witter - the Weston Christmas Light Display.

Jessica’s brother, Graham, has dedicated hundreds of hours decorating his family home, garden and farm buildings with thousands of festive lights and decorations to raise money for The Donna Louise.

His sister, Jessica, had Cardio-facio Cutaneous syndrome, severe epilepsy and multiple complex health needs and spent time at The Donna Louise each year.

Graham initially began the display to do something special for his sister. He explained, “I began the Weston Christmas Light display in 2013 as Jessica had a fascination for colour, light and sound so I wanted to do something special for her at Christmas. When Jessica passed away in December 2015 I pledged to continue the display in her memory and raise as much money as I can for The Donna Louise.
“Jessica loved spending time at The Donna Louise and her respite stays there gave my parents a much needed break. As a family we received so much support from them and I wanted to do something to remember Jessica, say thank you to The Donna Louise and raise money for the other families who rely on the charity.”

Since 2013 Graham’s Christmas Light display has raised more than £65,000 with last year’s display raising almost £26,000 alone. This is thanks to Graham’s hard work and the generosity of the local community who visited the farm throughout December.

This year’s light display promises to be bigger and better than ever before and Graham and his family are inviting the whole community to go along and join in the festive fun this December. The family house, farm buildings and garden will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland with a visit from Santa every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, with the perfect opportunity for your own sleigh selfie! Visitors will also have the chance to look inside Santa’s Grotto, listen to festive music, try a delicious mince pie and enjoy their own festive ice-cream.

The Weston Light Display will shine between 1st – 28th December (6.15pm-9pm) at Carters Green Farm, Jack Lane, Weston, CW2 5LE.
