An evening of fine dining, which brought together the best of the City of Stoke-on-Trent has raised an incredible £50,000 for the children and young people who use the care services of The Donna Louise Hospice.
On Monday (8th October) more than 130 guests were completely wowed as Stoke-born, Michelin-starred chefs, Niall Keating and Simon Hulstone hosted an evening of exceptional food, held in the stunning setting of the World of Wedgwood.
Guests enjoyed five delicious courses, carefully prepared by teams from the chefs’ own restaurants, and expertly paired with fine wines provided by Old School Wines, Tittensor.
The event was organised by Michelin, whose employees chose The Donna Louise as the Stoke site’s charity of the year. Following a visit to the hospice, the Michelin team felt moved to do something really special to raise money for the children and young people.
Simon Fuller, Chief Executive of The Donna Louise, said, “As one of our corporate supporters, Michelin expressed an interest in supporting us with a fundraising event. We never dreamed it would be something of this nature and we’ve been absolutely blown away by this exceptional event which saw two Michelin-starred chefs come together to create a unique culinary experience at the inspiring World of Wedgwood.
“On behalf of the families who will benefit from the money raised by this event, I’d like to say a massive thank you - thank you to everyone who came along, to all of the wonderful volunteers and of course, to our fabulous friends at Michelin, Old School Wines and World of Wedgwood for hosting such a phenomenal event. I’d also like to say a massive thank you to Simon Hulstone and Niall Keating, the two Michelin-starred chefs, for their help in creating this event and donating their time to make the evening so special.”
