The Donna Louise’s 14th Annual Golf Day took place at Trentham Golf Club on Friday 7th September and thanks to the generosity of the players, the day raised more than £16,500.

The day began with a bacon butty and a cuppa for the 124 players, before the first teams teed off at 11.50am. In total 31 teams of 4 players completed the course.

Following a successful day on the course, many of the players returned to the Club House for an evening dinner of pie & chips and an auction and raffle, which helped to boost the amount of money raised on the day.

Finally a bereaved Dad, whose family was cared for by The Donna Louise following the loss of his daughter, spoke about the support his whole family had received.

Zoë Gregory, Events Manager at The Donna Louise, said, “Our annual Golf Day was another great success. I’d like to say a big thank you to the Golf Committee, the Golf Club, our main sponsors – Red Industries Limited, Novus and AMP Scaffolding, and Churchill China, and all of our hole sponsors.

“And, of course, a big thank you to all the players who took part and helped to raise more than £16,500 for local children, young people and their families. The money raised by the Golf Day will pay for an overnight respite stay for 13 families at the hospice in Trentham, or in the family home. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible.”
