Cheshire’s first Emergency Services Day has raised hundreds of Pounds for the children, young adults and families who rely on The Donna Louise.

One of the hottest days of the year saw hundreds of people turn out on Sunday 8th July to enjoy the family fun day at the Weaver Stadium, Nantwich.

Throughout the day there were loads of demonstrations and activities from the emergency services, plus craft and artisan stalls, donkey rides and a fun fair.

Regional fundraiser for The Donna Louise, Katie Tams, said, “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to support Cheshire’s first Emergency Services Day, especially the fantastic emergency services teams.

“The event took months to plan and it was a lot of hard work to get everything ready but it was all worth it to see everyone having such a great time. The weather was absolutely incredible too, it was a real scorcher, which helped to make it a really fun afternoon.”

Katie added, “I’d also like to thank all of The Donna Louise volunteers who helped out on the day – we really couldn’t do it without them.”

The money raised by the Emergency Services Day will make a huge difference to more than 260 children and young adults, and their families, from across Staffordshire and Cheshire, who rely on The Donna Louise for a wide range of care services.
