The Donna Louise’s tenth Annual Ball, held on Friday 8th June at The China Halls, Spode, has raised more than £76,000 for the children and young adults who rely on The Donna Louise.
The China Halls, Spode, were dramatically transformed from a dis-used warehouse space to a stunning ball venue, with theatrical lighting, a stage and dancefloor, and seating for more than 550 guests.
Zoë Gregory, Event Manager at The Donna Louise, explained, “We wanted to do something special to mark our 10th Annual Ball and we first looked at the China Halls around 18 months ago. It was such a great space and we had a vision of what we could achieve but it took a lot of careful planning and organising to ensure that everything came together on the night.
“Every day last week we had teams of volunteers helping us to clean up, tidy, move furniture and get the huge space ready for Friday night. I’m delighted that everything came together on time and I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to transform the venue to make it so spectacular.”
And, the Ball was a huge success with more than 550 guests enjoying a brilliant night full of fun and laughter, hosted by Jonathan Wilkes. There was plenty of singing and dancing, thanks to Jonny and his band, as well as acrobats, dancers, tombola, auctions and a good old-fashioned game of heads and tails.
Event Manager, Zoë Gregory, said, “The Ball was a great success and I hope that everyone who came had a great time. This is a One in a Million year for The Donna Louise, as we build our new unit for young adults and aim to raise an additional £1million. Our Annual Ball is one of our headline events and a night which many of our supporters look forward to, so it was great to see them having a great time and I’d like to thank them for their support and for helping us to raise such a fantastic amount of money.”
Plans for next year’s Ball are already underway which will be held on Friday 7th June 2019 at a venue to be confirmed.
