On Thursday 15th March, The Donna Louise held its first ever Big Quiz and, thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, the night raised more than £9,390 for the families who rely on The Donna Louise.

Hosted by Barclays, the Big Quiz at The Moat House Hotel, saw teams of four compete against each other in a series of rounds, including music, general knowledge and movies. In addition to the quiz itself, guests on the night enjoyed a pie and pea supper, plus an auction and raffle.

Nicky Birks, Corporate Relationship Manager at The Donna Louise, said, “It was a great night and we hope that everyone who came along to support The Donna Louise had a great time. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support, and a special thanks to Barclays who hosted the night for us and did such a brilliant job. The money raised will pay for a nurse for almost three months, which is just incredible.”

The overall winners of the quiz was a team from NatWest, who each took home a bottle of bubbly and a stunning print created by one of the children who uses The Donna Louise during an art therapy session.

John Pitchford, Corporate Director of Barclays Corporate Banking, said, “Barclays is delighted to support The Donna Louise with the amazing work that they do helping families across the region. It was a fantastic evening combining fun with the serious intent of raising much needed funds.”

The Donna Louise relies almost entirely on the support of the local community to raise more than £4.5million each year. Fundraising events, like the Big Quiz, are a really important way of raising this money.
