On Friday 8th December, businesses, schools, community groups and families pulled on their favourite Christmas jumpers to get involved in The Donna Louise’s Christmas Jumper Day.
And the charity’s second Christmas jumper day was a huge success as hundreds of people across the region wore their Christmas jumpers with pride, and made a donation to The Donna Louise.
Nikki Wrench, Challenge Events Manager at The Donna Louise, said, “We’re so grateful to everyone who took part in our second Christmas jumper day and helped to make the day such a great success. Loads of people sent in their photos via social media and it was really great to see everyone looking so colourful and festive.
“We don’t know exactly how much money we’ve raised at this stage, as we’re still waiting for everyone’s donations to come in, but we’re really hoping that we raised even more money than last year. Every penny raised will make a huge difference to the children, young adults and families who rely on The Donna Louise so, on their behalf, Thank You for doing your bit!
And, with the current cold snap there’s no better time for anyone who didn’t get involved last week to still hold their own Christmas jumper day.
Nikki added, “Although we held our ‘official’ jumper day last week, there’s still plenty of time to join in the fun and organise your own Christmas jumper day any time in the next week or so. And if you are holding a Christmas jumper day in your office, school, community group or even just at home - please don’t forget to send us your photos.”
